Waterbury, Vermont:  On Tuesday January 27, the Waterbury Tourism Council (WTC) elected Kim Dixon as its new President during their annual meeting at The Reservoir Restaurant. With over 20 years of marketing experience, Dixon is prepared to guide the organization through 2015 in building a stronger, more vibrant tourism community that will grow and prosper for years to come. Alongside Dixon, the elected 2015 board officers include: Vice President Ed Drill (Stowe Cabin in the Woods); Secretary Lynn Mason (Blackback Pub); and Treasurer Mark Frier (The Reservoir Restaurant & Tap Room, The Bench in Stowe).

Only a few months have passed since Dixon’s initial involvement in the WTC, and strategic improvement can already be seen in the organizations marketing. So far, the WTC marketing committee has rebranded the tourism council’s online presence, with the intention of increasing public visibility and interest through the web. The WTC is now officially represented across the web as “Discover Waterbury”. The list of active members in the WTC is extensive, and with the current strength of the WTC board at their service, many positive changes are sure to be seen for the Waterbury community this year. Dixon is both thrilled and honored to be a part of making this growth happen.

Dixon’s exceptional marketing perspective derives from her extensive local marketing work, and her upbringing in the progressive city of Chicago. She has provided invaluable services to countless Vermont businesses across many industries, including restaurants, spas, hotels, artists, musicians, rental agencies, lawyers, realtors, graphic animators, builders and contractors. Dixon served 14 years as Director of Marketing at Stoweflake Resort, and now operates her own marketing agency, Insights, LLC, located at 26 N. Main St., Waterbury. Through Insights she provides marketing services including specialized plans, budgets, social media strategies, email campaigns, copywriting, photography, and much more.

Dixon is known to extend her services to the community through WTC and elsewhere, dedicating her spare time to educating small businesses and organizations on marketing efforts. Her expertise and passion has now led her to pursue the role of an educational speaker, delivering workshops and seminars to benefit businesses and nonprofits in the Vermont.
